Ron has had us focusing on 5 characteristics of the friends of Jesus found in John 15 and this Sunday we looked at the 5th of those characteristics based on John 15:16, the friends of Jesus pray in the will of the Father. John 15:16... so whatever you ask the father in my name, he may give it to you. (see also John 14:13-14 and John 15:7)
Here is a quick reminder of some of the thoughts and scriptures Ron shared:

As Pastor Ron states prayer should be the character of our lives. And that prayer should reflect the will and nature of Jesus and our Heavenly Father and in the power of the Holy spirit. We can only achieve that, Christ like prayer, by being in the Vine(Holy Scriptures). As we receive more and more deeper understand from the Holy spirit about the truth of His word we are more and more transformed by the renewing of our minds through the Holy spirit; and the Spirit of God will change our thinking; and that will be reflected through our prayers. We will begin to pray in the will of Jesus(God). Theseems that key is setting time aside for time in the word. Time in the Word does not mean just scripture but must include scripture. Read or listen to those you have been moved to hear and search out the word for their accuracy and talk to your pastor, and to your fellow believers that are grounded solid in the word. That's why the first day of the week, or one day a week is so very Vidal to our walk with Christ. Not just 1 hour a week and we move on to the next task or fun filled activity. Every day their should be time of some sort in the word(with the vine) so we can receive those Vidal nutrients that are so very important to our daily walk and prays. We must have an understanding of who God really is and how wonderful and mighty and powerful and gracious and loving and kind and just and fearsome and majestic he is. We glorify God by becoming more and more like our savior with each new day. Each day is another opportunity to get closer a to Jesus. We also gain strength through this closer walk; staying in the Vine(Word). We become more trusting because we can see He will keep his promises, He knows what is happening and he has a plan for all that happens in our lives and in the Church as a whole. All things work for the good of those who love Jesus. Struggles, storms, sickness, joyful times, strife, happiness, and tears, are all used to test us and to draw us closer to our heavenly father and to cause us to glorify Him before others. I know all these things have been a struggle for me but by the power of God He has taught me to trust him and has strengthened me and comforted and shaped me and lifted me up to a new awareness of Him over and over again and He is still showing me deeper things almost every day. My pray today is that we all be drawn to a new thirst for the word of God as it is written. That the truth there in will become alive in each of us so we can become the faithful obedient servants of God and that on that day Jesus will say Come on in my faithful servant and NOT SAY; Depart from me I never Knew you, Amen

I would like to commend on Pastor Ron and his knowledge and teaching of the Holy Scripture. I have listened to many pastors and Pastor Ron seems to be very much lead by the Spirit with the truth of the word of God. He seems to have a heart for God and a passion for Jesus that plays out in his teaching and sermons. It is a very uplifting thing to come across such a fine man of God in these times in which many are deluding the word and making the word acceptable to the masses. It is in these times that we need men like Pastor Ron to help point people to to truth as it is written. The commission we are called to do is supposed to be in the truth of Gods word and nothing less will satisfy God or bring Glory to Him or Jesus or the Holy Spirit. God moves the hearts of men like Ron to correct the wrong preaching and to proclaim the the truth. People like Ron glorify God and are used mightily by Jesus. May pray is that God Draw more men to serve him in the manner and passion as Pastor Ron. May God continue to bless your teaching and continue to guide you through the Holy spirit to bring more and more truth and passion to all that He brings and opens the hears to hear. Amen
